HawkHost review

HawkHost was founded in 2004, it’s based in Canada. They believe that the best hosting solution is the one that can recovery from common problems by themselves. In addition to this automation they monitor your servers to keep your hosting up and running all the time.

All of HawHost’s data centers are powered by Tier 1 and Tier 2 transit providers for optimal network connectivity. All of their facilities utilize Cisco and Juniper network hardware along with UPS battery backups and Diesel generators for extended periods without local power.

HawkHost’s VPS plans

All HawkHost’s VPS plans comes with 30 day money back guarantee, SSD powered storage with RAID10 and free migration support. They use equal share CPU and 1 Gbit network ports. The 3 plan goes from 1 GB memory, 30 GB space, 1,5 TB bandwidth for $18/month, to 4 GB memory, 50 GB space, 3 TB bandwidth for $58,5/month.

You can choose from the following Operating Systems: CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu and Fedora. You gain root access for all your plans and for $10/month you can get complete control with cPanel/WHM. Every VPS server uses an Equal Share CPU allocation system, where you can use as much leftover CPU power as you need. They don’t place any specific cap on performance, but they monitor each server closely so there are still enough CPU power left for each user. The systems differ a bit for each plan, but every server have at least 24 cores to work with.

Support and other features

HawkHost received some really nice reviews, but not only good ones. Some claims that it’s overloaded and had bad downtime, but most of the ratings are positive. HawkHost has a good and experienced support team, you can reach them via e-mail or live chat. They have useful knowledge base and forum as well, with a lot of relevant information. HawkHost has its data centers in Dallas, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Singapore, Hong Kong and Toronto, so we can say it provides worldwide.

In this HawkHost review we found that they offer fairly good geographical coverage and plans on good prices. However there are only 3 plans available and there are some bad reviews from users.
